2017-2018 ATOM A TEAM - Atom A Rapids win bronze at provincials
Submitted By mmasterson on Sunday, April 8, 2018
The Atom A Rapids rebounded from a tough semi-final loss to capture the bronze medal at the OWHA provincial championships in a thriller.  After winning four straight to reach the semis, the team was dealt a tough 2-1 loss in overtime by Stratford.  They then faced a 2-0 deficit in the bronze-medal game against Cornwall, but scored twice in the last two minutes to force overtime before taking the bronze in the second overtime period, poking home a loose puck for the victory.  The girls did an amazing job of not giving up despite all signs pointing to a fourth-place finish.

The bronze caps a tremendous season for a team that exceeded expectations all year, and which also included three tournament gold medals.  Another outstanding performance from the girls and our coaching staff.
